SGCNZ UOSWSF Regional & National Festivals 2014
Here are the dates for 2014. These are current as of 4 April 2014. Please check regularly for updates as sometimes Regional Reps, times, dates or locations change.
SGCNZ National UOSWSF: Please note that because of earthquake proofing work being carried out at Wellington East Girls’ College, the SGCNZ National UOSWSF is being shared between close neighbours Wellington College and Wellington East Girls’ College. The performances on Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June, plus the feedback session on Monday 2 June will all be in the Wellington College Hall (just down the hill from Wellington East). Other activities, such as workshops, will be at Wellington East Girls’ College.
After years of expressions of interest, homeschool groups are invited to join SGCNZ’s Regional and National University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festivals and the allied arts competitions.
You are invited to appoint a contact person for your homeschool region to liaise with SGCNZ and to assist groups in your region to participate. Should you need more support or information you are also welcome to contact the Wellington Home Education Network (WHEN)’s new Shakespeare contacts:

SGCNZ Emerging Theatre Practitioners Programme 2014
This programme is designed to provide professional development for post-tertiary young theatre practitioners, those who are beyond SGCNZ Festivals, NSSP and YSC, but not yet ‘mid-career’. It will comprise:
- 2 month internship at Shakespeare’s Globe
- Internship at Folger (Washington DC) with a visit to Blackfriars
- Internship with An Eagle’s Nest Theatre, Australia
